Differentiate between i) Monocarpic and Polycarpic plants ii) Seasonal breeders and Continuous breeders

Monocarpic Plants Polycarpic Plants

Plants which flower only once in their life time are called monocarpic.

After flowering they produce fruits and die.

Example-Wheat,rice

 

These plants are perennial and flower repeatedly at intervals every year.

 

Example-Apple,mango

 

 

 Answer (ii)

Seasonal Breeders Continuous Breeders

They reproduce during particular period of the year.

Example-Frog,lizards,deer.

They continue to breed throughout their sexual maturity.

Example-Rabbit,mice,human beings.
