To depict a process in a flowchart a rectangular box is used. This is how it looks like

This is the most commonly used symbol when drawing a flowchart. The process related text is written inside this symbol.


The diamond box is used for conditions. Whenever you write a condition it has some outcome. The condition is either true or false. Therefore two arrows come out of the diamond box. One arrow is for the true / yes condition and the second arrow is for the false / no condition. This is how the conditional box looks like

You can use either of the outgoing arrows as true or false.
